The sale of Halyard's Surgical and Infection Prevention (S&IP) business to Owens & Minor (O&M) closed on 1 May 2018.

What does this mean for ANZ customers?

For now, both the S&IP and the Medical Device businesses continue to operate through Halyard Australia Pty. Ltd. on shared systems, and you will continue to work with us as usual. On 1 April 2019, the S&IP business will transition to Owens & Minor, and begin trading under the new entity, O&M Halyard Australia Pty Ltd.

Here are a few things that won't change:

  • Your current Halyard Account Manager will continue to provide the excellent service you have come to expect from us. Please continue to work with your current representative and use existing ordering processes.
  • You'll have access to the same quality HALYARD* products and clinical expertise.
  • Product code numbers will remain the same, with no product, packaging or name changes.

What you can expect in the future:

S&IP Customers (O&M Halyard)

  • S&IP products (surgical gowns, drapes, sterilisation solutions, gloves, facemasks and protective apparel) will continue to be marketed and sold under the Halyard brand.
  • On 1 April, the S&IP business will begin trading under the new entity, O&M Halyard Australia Pty Ltd.
  • The S&IP team have been communicating with your Accounts Payable Department and Contract Contacts regarding changes they will need to make to accounts, and the novation of contracts.

Medical Device Customers (AVANOS Medical)

  • Halyard’s medical device business (respiratory health, digestive health, acute and chronic pain) has been renamed to Avanos Medical, Inc. This name change will be in effect in Australia and New Zealand within the next six months.
  • Please note that e-mail addresses for the Medical Device business have changed. Medical Device employees are now contactable via e-mail addresses ending @hyh.com or @avanos.com. Please continue to use the customer service contact details as above.
  • New customer service details for AVANOS will be communicated in Q1 2019.
