Catherine Steel
MN, Grad Cert Periop, BHSc, RN, FACORN

Catherine is the Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Operating Theatres at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane Queensland Australia. In this role, Catherine focuses on quality initiatives, education, and staff and patient safety. Catherine was originally from Canada and has travelled, studied and worked internationally. Catherine has a Cert IV in WH&S, Bachelor of Health Science, a Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing and more recently completed her Masters in Nursing.

Throughout her career, Catherine has actively participated in State and National professional organisations and currently is a committee member for the Australian College of Perioperative Room Nurses (ACORN) Standards Committee. Catherine’s publications focus on patient and staff safety; technical and non-technical skills that substantiate reliability in translation of knowledge, which effect outcomes.
